She has lived the obstacles and mental blocks that can plague artists, been overwhelmed by the balance between creating and everyday obligations, and has written more show and grant applications than she’s won, because she believes a stack of No-Thank-Yous is better than not taking action at all.

Cat’s successful corporate career has spanned over 15 years concentrated in creative project management for marketing teams. She has coordinated thousands of knit and crochet designs for Coat's & Clark's Red Heart Yarns, planned, packed and was friendly during trade shows, transitioned teams to new software platforms at JELD-WEN, produced photoshoots, scheduled crews, wrangled salespeople into submitting their expenses on time, and reduced revision rounds while leading a creative marketing team of designers and writers. She excels at bridging communication gaps between creatives and other stakeholders.

 

All the while, she has nurtured a thriving artistic practice. Her work has been exhibited in various group and solo shows, including ArtFields, Charlotte International Arts Festival (CIAF), Good Year Arts, and ArtPop Street Gallery.
